Just wanted to know what people thought

Posted in Group:

So I have posted up here before, basically my drug abuse history is with cocaine. I used to use all the time for about 4 years. I never used alone, but I only had friends that used so when I was around them we would be doing that. I am not in an outpatient counseling and they keep telling us that we need to talk about how we feel about our using. The problem is honestly I don't think about it anymore, I don't want it or have a urge to go and get it. I know I had a very big problem before. I have been clean now for 8 months. Is it possible to be addicted but not use when you are alone only with others? Has anyone ever felt like me?

I suppose it is sort of like people that don't smoke on their own, but only smoke in the company of friends. I would just caution you to stay away from said friends, if they are your trigger to a path you have worked to stay off, sever ties. Work hard on your recovery, congratulations on a hard earned 8 months clean!
