Emotions - Day 9
Day 9
Emotions
Our emotions can be difficult to deal with at times. We may have been quite numb before.
We are not used to dealing with our emotions or even having them. For awhile our emotions will be erratic, if we know this we can prepare for it.
No need to make any important decisions at this time when we take into account our emotional status right now.
Understanding that my emotions were all over the place, I was not able to “control” that but I was able to see it objectively that allowed me to process it. Knowing that this would level out with time helped to remind myself of.
Having our goals in place, we will continue to see ourselves change and to grow, things that are now hard will get easier as we go.
Getting in touch with our feelings, confronting those that need to be confronted and dealing with them as we go, keeping in mind that we may be feeling uncomfortable for a while and that in time we will feel better and better process our emotions.
For me, it was an intense emotional roller coaster and there are other factors in our lives that cause our emotions to become erratic as well, (Diet, Hormones ) and all of these things can work together.
Emotions: You go from being numb to one big raw nerve. But know that with a bit of time this will get better. We simply need to detox and not give a lot of weight to any of the emotions we are having, do not make any important decisions right now, take care of ourselves and realize that we need not worry , we need tend to all of our physical, spiritual and emotional wounds as they surface.
And to remember that your feelings will be changing a lot during this time , so there really is not point getting too sad, too happy or too angry or any other emotion simply because it will be PASSING and it will be CHANGING.
Therefore use patience and self control in observing the emotions but not giving them any more weight. Not getting "upset over being upset" rather UNDERSTAND that it will be changing.
Realizing we are vulnerable this way right now, I steered clear from any stressful engagements that would be difficult for me emotionally.
Avoid emotionally charging situations, scenarios and people. It is OK to take this time for yourself to nurse your wounds. The Emotions are all over the place at times and we may feel a lot of them and we may be very sensitive. Just knowing that it is a process and you will be able to process all of them and heal means you can feel okay about this. We know that in 30 days time, let alone 60 or 90 we will be feeling so much better, this is the tough part of the forest we are getting through.
So have faith and perseverance, take care, avoid stress whenever you can, let the emotions process themselves, cry, release and get through each of these small storms when and if you must.
Tip: Writing, Dealing w/ our emotions is one we can use writing as a tool to help us to process our emotions.
oops I guess I have posted this in the wrong media...

i hope i will not be scared of food anymore;-)
kisses xoxoxo
Hello Reham!
I am so glad to hear from you dear!
No guilt is a good thing
you know I have not really had a food problem per se
but i have seen myself indulge in bad habits and also in good ones
i have seen myself thru destructive periods not eat
and how our moods are tied to food
2 ways
what we eat affects how we feel
and how we feel affects what and how we eat
I am guessing now if we make the effort and pay attn to this we do not have to be at the control of IT instead WE can be in control.
Knowing ourselves! It sounds to me healthy that you allowed yourself to indulge,
2 kilos is nothing girl and certainly nothing to worry for
look at BIG picture!
and i say let yourself indulge, knowing yourself, cuz in the big picture you are overall eating well, you are getting your drinking water in each day, and you are exercising.
if you allow yourself to indulge once in awhile maybe that is a healthy way to deal w/ the food disorder????
Never be afraid to be yourself
I am glad you are overcoming your issues w/ food
and getting back to yourself
that you will not let it have that control over you , you will be in control of it instead!
i hope with you Reham!
if it makes you feel any better, I am addicted to those orange icicles w/ the vanilla center ?? right? so they say on the box only 70 calories and no fat ? that makes me feel better, they say no transfats again I feel better
but in the middle of the night i get these damn sweet tooths so i eat one,
and then i do the whole, i'll only have "one more"
and of course get another.
but the point is I LET MYSELF DO THIS, as you say no guilt.
the rest of my diet is comprised of healthy foods
I am fortunate in that my S.O. buys our food he won't buy stuff w/ poisen (trans fats) so he gets snacks w/o.
I am not able to shop or else we'd have a lot of junk food in our shelves, lol
so I have to eat whatever is here
and then i have a well balanced diet because he makes our dinner each night and I am on my own til he gets home .
so i'm eating well for the most part , I do not worry if I overindulge from time to time w/ my orange pops!
also, I had been thinking recently for my own eating issues to do the Albert Einstein thing: you know he had 5 suits of clothes exact same, reason was because he did not want to spend time and energy deciding what to wear each day
then he could think instead of other things
well i'm adopting that to my own eating problems
cuz
of the moods and eating and how they work together, and we are all different w/ different nutritional needs to perform at our optimal best, w/ differing amounts of energy we use to do what we do in our own lives right?
so for me, I have found that if i eat:
tuna fish
peanut butter jelly
whole wheat bread
salad
dinner of pasta or fish or chicken
egg salad
i get the stuff in me i need so i do not mood swing
add : peanuts, bananas , and my orange creamsicles for my snacks
so i just basically now am eating the same food every day
because i know that around a certain time i will start mood swinging from lack of food and i know that when i eat a pnut butter jelly i immediate feel better
i eat my salad every night cuz my SO makes em w/ our dinner
so i just need to eat my healthy snacks during day and meals that i now I will feel just about as good as I can feel these days , all things considered
if i know these foods work well with me and are not unhealthy
then i simply repeat those same meals every day.
wow, didn't know i was gonna have the chance to discuss this
but what we eat and eating proper is VERY IMPORTANT when we are healthy and esp when we are not healthy
it is a huge deal ! so my heart goes out to anyone suffering the food disorder.
cuz hell it's hard enough even when you do not!
oh Lord, it is the longest and nicest answer ever on my eating disorder :D
You can not imagine how much i appreciate ur tipss and your food plan.
I believe that i will follow Einstein, in order not to think alot of food ;)
i work 9 hours daily and loose 3 hourse in transportation, so i have 6 hours to sleep and hours for my 9 cats, tv and my husband :)
So i need to manage my time in a better way, i will copy paste what you wrote and print it, so i can remember Einstein to avoid mood swings..
stay happy and positive and fearless dear..xoxoxo
wow 9 cats hun? yu with the cats and me with the dogs , as I've 9 dogs right now.
at least until i can find decent homes for a few.
yes, i am doing this with food
funny this shows up on the Emotion
i had not thought about the food thing so much
but i know for my own eating habits is tied to my mood
again , let us not let our moods control us and what we eat thus making it worse
let us control what we eat to control the moods and stabilize
yes i am doing this too
the easier we make it on ourselves to eat right the better our chances will be to do it.
glad it helped you dear
bananas and nuts are very good for mood stabilization
and for on the go foods
treat the foods like meds you have to take certain amounts certain types at certain frequencies.
i love dogs sooooooo much, but iam a muslim, so in my religion i can not keep one at my flat, because angels do not enter the house that contains dogs or human pictures or sculptures :((
iam so tired today, and need to sleep, so i ate 3 chocolates, which is not healthy at all :(((
The good thing that i knew now that i binge when iam tired, so later on i will stop my self...
I hope u r fine ;)))

Hi Peg
Well Deb I would have to agree. I don think I would want to shake to much up for the next 6 months to a 1 yr. Best to keep recovery a priority.! I understand about how emotions start to thaw out. I think at my stage of the game trying to stay level and dealing with life with some sort of consistancy is more relevant in my quest for continuing sobriety. You know, keep doing the things that work! Become dedicated, have integraty, morals, no more scheming! Don t stray to far from the beam! use my 6th sence! keep focusing on how great my life really is and how much better its going to get, become a eternal optomist. Just learn how to put my best spirit forward. Invision that all my dreams are already a reality. When things get tough learn to "suck it up" life doesn t always give us what we were expecting! the best lad plans often cave in on us!
You know Deb I believe life is a gift and that anything can be accomplished if we learn focus on the things we love and get out of our own damn way.
Talk to you soon Deb
No work tomorrow "yeah"
